Earning Natalie Portman a nomination for best actress, the deranged drama centred around ballet and fittingly titled The Black Swan is a film that will lead you gasping and thrilled to have survived the experience.

Portman plays Nina Sayers, a young ballerina that is sexually naïve, beautiful, and unfortunately prone to mental illness due to her family genetics.  In order to take on the role that every ballerina dreams of Nina must dig into the dark side of her mind, which leads to anxiety attacks, hallucinations, and plenty of other side effects of mental deterioration that artistically are timed to match her rehearsal progress and brilliance on the stage.
