Report from Paris fashion week
29 Oct
With Paris fashion week taking place everyone wants to know what the new spring collections are looking like and it looks like if Chloe has anything to say about it the look will be soft beige. Chloe is long known for creating collections that always have a bit of menswear style in it, and this year is no different as it seems to be borrowing off khaki shades for its new signature spring line.
In fact, everything on the runway is some shade of beige, which should certainly light up the streets of Paris and London, however, women who tend to be messy eaters or just messy in general may want to avoid condiments and coffee next spring. On the line from Hannah MacGibbon the fashion designer were plenty of tweeds, checks, and one beautiful butterscotch tan leather jacket. It’s a bad season to be blonde it looks like.
Outside of the obvious stresses that this could cause for pale blondes, the major problem with the sleek and feminist Chloe brand is the same problem that seems to be plaguing many designers at Paris fashion week: if the entire collection features styles that look alike, how will anyone tell the clothing lines apart?
The good news for Chloe at least however is that the lines are pretty clean making them easy and breezy for everyday wear which tends to appeal to budget conscious buyers. However, maybe taking the cuts and veering a little away from beige, toffee, and caramel would not be such a bad thing when the styles hit the racks.
