It’s a tough time for us all financially at the moment, so travelling across Europe to support your favourite national team at Euro 2012 is beyond the means of many. So what if you heard that there was a competition running that would not only take you to Warsaw to see the opening match but also give you the chance of winning a stunning new Picanto car? That’s certainly something worth entering isn’t it?

Kia Cars are running their Euro 2012 tie in contest known as the Kia Dubstep Competition, and as the name suggests, the techno vibe of dubstep plays a big part of it. To enter, and entry closes on the 13th May so don’t hang about, all you do is upload a video of yourself, or a group, doing your best dubstep moves to the DJ Flux Pavilion classic ‘I Can’t Stop’.

You don’t have to be the greatest dancer in the world, the contest isn’t about that, its more about putting your energy and enthusiasm into it while enjoying it at the same time. If you are sitting there twitching now with the tune in your head, have a look on YouTube at the videos that have already been submitted and see if some inspire you or simply to give you an idea of what it is all about. Enter the competition now!

You may find yourself a fan of CyborgJJung dancing against the backdrop of a graffiti strewn wall on YouTube, and want to do something along those lines. There are just a few rules, there can be as many as you like in the video but a maximum of two can fly to Warsaw, all winners must be 18 and over and entries must be uploaded to the official site so follow the link on the Kia Dubstep Facebook page.

Last year Tom Ford was met with disappointment at London Fashion Week as many claimed that he took a day off after some disastrous looks on the catwalk. However, this year Ford is back in full force, choosing to show some stunning classic fashions to lucky editors that were invited into his private showroom to take a look.

This year, Ford opted out of the catwalk scene. Preferring to return to his previous method of bringing small groups of editors into his showroom to see the fashions on models, enabling him to talk his way through every look. This also gave him a chance to explain that the goal of his label is to celebrate the fashion of individual women and that his sole aim is to make a women feel special in his clothing.

Although there are no pictures of the collection, as Ford did not allow it, the clothing range was mostly composed of skinny tailored looks combined with large fur coats. Crepe colours were popular choices as were tight leather pants and pencil skirts. Stiletto boots also marked a lot of his fashions along with golden bags that screamed glamour. In short, most of the clothes were contemporary classics and items that pretty much any women would want.

Most likely, some of these dresses were heading to the Oscars, and with good reason, because the high luxury items are as fairy tale like as the prices on their tags.

The world of digital art is one of the most exciting mediums to experiment, explore and achieve more than you ever thought was possible. To celebrate this exciting and infinite art form where the artist is only restricted by their own imagination, designform.com have been running a worldwide competition to bring the best of digital art to the masses, and prove to the purists that art doesn’t have to mean oils and canvas.

The first stage of the ‘Inspired Performance’ has been judged and 6 finalists were chosen from 531 entrants from 71 countries. These, and the winning design, can be seen on the designboom website.

The overall winner was Brano Hvalac fromSloveniaand his originality and concept were clearly what the judges were looking for.

Their new competition, once again in collaboration with Infiniti cars, is entitled Infiniti Curved Vision. The competition is open to professionals and amateurs alike, and full details can be found ++. Once again entrants have the chance to extract the images in their mind into a digital format and create mini masterpieces under the premise of a perfect line being a curve.

Infiniti cars should be at the heart of the design, but where you want to take it from there is entirely up to you. A curved vision means different things to everyone, and is an exciting theme to follow. You will find on the website a library of images aimed to motivate and inspire, but all submitted work must be totally original.

Free registration to enter this contest is required, so find out more click here get yourself registered and then submit your work any time up until the 10th July, and those who have made the short list will be notified within 4 weeks of this closing date.

With spring in the air nothing sounds quite as tempting as breaking open a bottle of wine and sitting on the patio to drink it surrounded by friends, or perhaps just your spouse, as you unwind for the day.

Of course, most people do not have wads of spare cash to spend on wine every week but more likely to be at the point in your life when you would like to drink a bit more than plonk, but still not spend a fortune on a bottle. This guide helps you do that while still getting to sample some of the best spring wines out there.

First up is the Caliterra Sauvignon Blanc Reserva which comes in at about ten pounds and is just about as grand as any other Sauvignon Blanc from NZ. It smells a bit like gooseberry and passion fruit and is just as crisp while it goes down. Toss in some goat-cheese snacks and you have elegance in a bottle without spending a fortune.

Those who prefer red wines for dinner may want to try out the ten pound bottle of Pelee Pebbles Red 2010 because while Ontario is not usually known for its low wine prices, the great wine summer of 2010 did offer some great bargains. A blend of Austrian Zweigelt, Baco Noir, and Gamay makes this juicy and bright red wine an excellent match with a fish such as salmon or simply a strong wine for after dinner aperitifs out on the patio.

Are you so embarrassed by your yard that you hide away indoors and pretend it doesn't exist? Do you step through weeds and debris and dream of having the kind of yard that will be the envy of your neighborhood? If you do all of this and more, then the DIY Network want to hear about it. They are seeking America's Most Desperate Landscape for the 5th year running, and the prize is a fantastic $25,000 makeover.

The host of the DIY Network Jason Mills, a licensed contractor who will bring his Desperate Landscapes team to your yard and give it the makeover of a lifetime. All you have to do to be in with the chance of winning this awesome prize is to upload a video or photos of your own desperate landscape to the network website before April 30th and wait to see if yours is deemed the ugliest.

The winner will also appear in a one hour special edition of America's Most Desperate Landscape which is slated to air at 9pm ET on the DIY Network on July 18th. This is one of the most popular makeover shows on US television, and its main appeal is that it concentrates on the outside of your home as opposed to the majority of the shows that deal with the interior of homes.

This will be the fifth year running that the show has sought out the most desperate landscape in America, then have invaded the space and made the ugly duckling into a swan that is envied by all and leaves the householder with the yard of their dreams that is both functional and beautiful.

The hunt for America's Most Desperate Landscape is one of the flagship programs in the new spring line up for the DIY Network channel. A new addition to the line up is the 30 minute program Yardcore with sibling landscapers Jake and Joel Moss taking on the challenges of some of the most screwed up yard in the US. Also making welcome returns are old favorites Indoors Out, Turf War, Yard Crashers and King of Dirt.

London Fashion Week proved that it grew up this year as the 2012 collection was much more a display of elegant wear, compared to the quirky and emerging styles that usually play out on the catwalks.

Leading the line-up this year were acknowledged fashion maestros including collections by Burberry’s Christopher Bailey, Paul Smith, and Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Each of their catwalk selections proved that London has quickly moved into the realm of sophistication and luxury.

Anna Wintour, the Editor-in-Chief for Vogue, stated that she was used to seeing eccentric street chic on the catwalks ofLondon, but now the show has matured into a sexy, polished, and glamorous collection of clothes.

Despite the fact that Mulberry, Burberry, Stella McCartney, and Alexander McQueen all have come out of London, the London Fashion Week is often written about as the quirky sister of the more renowned fashion weeks held in Paris, New York, and Milan.

This year, the hot trends on the catwalks ranged from bright prints to furs to military styles to sequined gowns and shirts. Panels were also very popular at the show with tailored jackets that had panel;ed leather and trench coats that were sheathed in panels from Burberry.

Also predominant on stage was the illusion of the ‘hourglass’ figure which was created by tying in jackets and coats at the waist. McQ also uniquely pulled off the cinch by using a series of colorful bows to pull in the waistlines of their fashions.

Turning an outdoor balcony into a garden does not have to involve a lot of effort if you plan out your garden before you actually start the project, and take full advantage of the many different plants that can grow out of containers. Here are just a few tips to help sure you make the most out of your balcony garden.

First of all, optimise the space on your balcony by utilising hanging and shelving baskets so that you can make more room for your garden versus what will fit in a planter on the ground. choosing smaller, dwarf plant varieties also means that you can fit more in. For instance, if you choose a dwarf cherry tomato plant you can easily place it in a hanging basket whereas a regular tomato plant is going to quickly eat up space on the balcony.

Next, you need to make sure that all of your containers have some type of drainage hole on the bottom so that water does not collect in the soil and kill the plants. You will have to place drop trays underneath the plants to keep them from ruining the balcony, but in return you will have healthier plants.

Finally, remember that potted plants will require more water than regular plants in the ground because the soil dries out so be sure to water your plants on a daily basis. While watering make sure that you avoid hitting the leaves as damp leaves can cause fungal growth.

Green pesto is a combination of cheese, olive oil, basil leaves, garlic and salt; which means that if you have a little bit of time to read up on pesto you can easily create your own pesto sauce that will thrill and delight your guests. In fact, in less than an hour you can have a great pesto out on the table.

To start, grind about a fourth of a cup of pine nuts in the blender to help add a unique flavour to the sauce. You want the pine nuts to be crumbled but not a powder, so about thirty minutes in a standard blender should do it.

Next, toss in ½ cup of Parmesan cheese and mix it with the pine nuts until it is fully grated and even. The texture of this should also not be powdered, but instead clumpy and thick.

Third, add minced garlic and basil leaves slowly to the blender and then grind the mixture fully with the cheese and the nuts. The leaves will all be shredded in different sizes, just make sure that they do not grind down so far that they become watery.

Add some salt and pepper, a touch of lemon if you plan on refrigerating the sauce, one tablespoons of garlic, and one tablespoon of olive oil and you will have the perfect green pesto ready to serve! The pesto will taste great mixed into pasta sauce, on bagels, or even as a coating for chicken.

Goats cheese quiche is an excellent breakfast meal or brunch and lunch entree, given the fact that it offers a rustic look if the goat cheese is scattered and has an excellent taste when combined with certain vegetables such as spinach.

In order to make spinach goat’s cheese quiche start by whisking together 1 ¾ cups of flour with salt and then cut in four ounces of butter until you have a course mixture left behind. At this point slowly beat one egg along with about two tablespoons of water and then drizzle it over the flour. Gently use a fork to blend the mixture and then squeeze it to form dough, wrap it, and place it in the fridge for thirty minutes.

In the meantime preheat the oven to 350F and flour a cooking surface. Take out the dough when ready and roll it out to be about 1/8 inch thick and place in a 12 inch tart pan, making sure to trim the sides. Place the shell in the fridge again for another 20 minutes. Bake the pastry for about thirty minutes or until it turns lightly brown and leave it to cool.

While it’s cooking, heat up a skillet and add one pound of spinach cooking it until it wilts. Once the spinach is cool, squeeze it dry and then chop it and toss with garlic. Place this mixture into the shell.

Next, whisk together ½ cup of cream, two egg yolks, two eggs, and a bit of salt and pepper. Take the goat cheese rounds and crumble them on top of the spinach and then pour the cream and egg mix over the shell. Cook it for an additional forty minutes until the mixture sets and you will have quiche ready to serve.
