Making student journeys cheap and cheerful

1 Dec

If you are impoverished student looking to make more regular student journeys home without braving the horrors of public transport, or a driver looking to make a daily commute in an empty, gas guzzling motor, log onto the BlablaCar website and make these trips both easier and a lot cheaper. Not only is this kind of service wallet friendly, it’s also eco friendly, as the less cars there are on the road, the less CO2 emissions there are, which is a great help to our environment.

To find a driver or a passenger really couldn’t be simpler thanks to BlablaCar’s great website. Once on the homepage, passengers looking for a ride simply input their departure i.e. university town and destination and a list of the dates, prices and places left instantly appears so you can make an informed choice.

Drivers looking for passengers simply click on the post a ride link to enter where you are going from and to and when. BlablaCar will also help you work out what to charge for the ride and once you have done this, which only takes a minute, your ride will then appear online for potential passengers to find. There are many people just waiting to find a ride, and the sooner you get your trip on there, the sooner your car will fill up.

There is a specialist website for students, Campus, where you can find either a lift to and from Uni if you live off campus, or a seat in a car that will take you home for either a weekend or for the holidays. There is also a great incentive for students, groups and other associations to win £3000 by promoting this greener way to travel. All you need to do is email campus@blablacar.com and request a competition pack and more info. Full details can be found on the Campus website and it takes no time at all to register your details to be in with a chance of winning this great prize. Winners will be announced at the end of March 2012 so enter now!
